New research has suggested that the slogan of energy drink Red Bull, "Gives you wings," might actually be true. The study has found that taurine—a prominent ingredient in the energy drink—could be the 'elixir of life'. When given to mice, taurine helped them live an extra three to four months, equating to seven or eight human years.
Columbia University found that the substance also slowed down the ageing process, keeping the rodents healthy even in old age.
