Starting the Day

My day begins early, around 7:00 AM. Upon arriving at work, my first task is to check the computer for the day's paperwork. This includes a list of the deceased individuals I need to prepare for services in the coming days. I sort through the paperwork in my office to organize my tasks and determine the priority of each job.

Next, I check a large board in the mortuary that lists all the deceased individuals currently in care, including those in the refrigerator or waiting to be picked up from hospitals or coroners.

This helps me prioritize tasks, such as viewings, family dressings, and any religious preparations required.

Preparation and Equipment Check

Once I have my list, I check if the coffins and clothing for the deceased have arrived. It's essential to ensure that these items are available before starting any preparations. If there are any issues with the coffin or clothing, I need to address them with the arranger to avoid any delays or additional work.
