Kenichi is a high school student who feels like a complete loser. Constantly bullied and struggling to fit in, he seems to be a textbook case of the underdog. Despite his attempts to fend off his bullies by reading self-help books and practicing techniques he learns from them, nothing seems to improve his situation. His lack of confidence and persistent troubles only add to his woes, leaving him isolated with no friends.
However, Kenichi’s life takes a dramatic turn when he meets a new girl at school. One morning, Kenichi, running late, accidentally bumps into her. Mistaking his clumsiness for an attack, she reacts with reflexes so sharp that she throws him to the ground. She quickly apologizes and helps him gather his scattered books. Although initially frustrated by her reaction, Kenichi soon learns that her swift actions were merely a reflex.
