A New York mother-of-three believed to have died by assisted suicide in Switzerland had received a threatening email from her abusive husband just two months before her death. Allan Kassenoff, a lawyer, had spent over $3 million on a custody battle and accused his ex-wife Catherine Kassenoff of destroying him financially and focusing on revenge instead of seeking help.
In a Facebook post just before her death, Catherine said she'd been enduring "abuse and terror" from Allan for years, had lost her children, home, and savings, and was being diagnosed with terminal cancer for the third time. Videos showed Allan screaming at Catherine and their children.
